Malaria Assassins 2018
The Harvard Undergraduate Global Health Forum (HUGHF) worked with Harvard’s Defeating Malaria Initiative to reboot Malaria Assassins for Harvard undergraduates in Spring 2018. 270 Harvard undergraduates signed up to play the game, which took place from April 13 - April 25. The competition culminated with a World Malaria Day panel on the final day.
Students across all four class years participated in our 2018 Malaria Assassins game. Overall, 270 students played, across thirteen active communities: nine upperclassmen houses and four freshman yards.
Each time a player tagged his or her target, the player had to answer a question about malaria in order to receive the next target. In addition, each time a player refreshed the screen, a new fact about appeared. Across our 2018 Malaria Assassins game, players answered a total of 102 questions and saw 2546 facts about malaria.
